Crime - Crime is an action or omission which constitutes an offence and is punishable by law. Yet, it is done by many individuals or groups. Signs of crime in the book are when Sister Olivia and Gardo are walking along the jail cells. Gardo explains “They’re poor. They do many things.” and “They steal.”Stealing is one of the most committed crimes in the world. Crime is a global problem, ranking up next to even terrorism. The crime rate in Auckland is 46.52 with the safety rate being 53.48. Vandalism and theft are the no.1 contributors to the crime rate with 58.00 still considered moderate.

Sightseeing/having fun - Personally I love to travel and experience nature. Signs of this in the book is when Rat and Raphael board a Red Bus to the outskirts of the city where the senator lives. The look out to an amazing view on the ocean. They were also laughing as they shaking hands with random people for fun. I also love to fun and take a break from school/sports

Trespassing - Not so much of trespassing but being sneaky. I love to be sneaky and lurk around the house. I also like to eavesdrop which I don’t really think is a positive trait but gathering information is another thing. Rat and Raphael trespass into the senator's house through a tree, they were able to climb up and into the house.

She has a particular fondness for rat and even wanted to adopt him. She was the lady that was tricked into taking Gardo to visit Gabriel Olondriz even though she had to pay 10,000 pesos to do so. She always thinks the best of people and doesn’t believe that they would fool her. “Behala had hit me hard, and i couldn’t get it out of my mind” “ I fell in love with the eyes looking at me, and the smiles” “Jun would not call me Olivia, it was always “sister”, and then it became “mother” Olivia plays an important role in the story and is a volunteer teacher in the Mission school. She is a very important character as without her Gardo, Rat and Raphael would have never visited the prison and deciphered the code. Olivia changes throughout the story by becoming wiser and less innocent. She becomes more inclined to disbelieve people and...
