LI- Define complex and unfamiliar words, identify synonyms and use the words in a context.
Success Criteria:
  • Write a definition of each word.
  • Include synonyms for each word.
  • Write sentences that include each word


Aisle -
Definition: a passage between cabinets and shelves of goods in a supermarket or other building.
Synonyms: avenue, corridor, hallway, lane, path
Prison -
Definition: a building in which people are legally held as a punishment for a crime they have committed or while awaiting trial.
Synonyms: confinement, jail, lockup, penitentiary
Weak -
Definition: lacking the power to perform physically demanding tasks; having little physical strength or energy.
Synonyms: anemic, feeble, fragile, frail
Dying -
Definition: on the point of death.
Synonyms: decaying, doomed, fading, moribund
Cell -
Definition: a small room in which a prisoner is locked up or in which a monk or nun sleeps.
Synonyms: apartment, cage, chamber, cubicle
